The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that students studying in Class 10 and Class 12 will not be mandatorily required to appear for their Board Exams twice a year. In an exclusive interview to news agency PTI, the education minister said that board students will be able to opt for the board exams based on their wish and feasibility. Talking on ‘stress’ among students, he said that the arrangement of board exams twice a year is aimed at broadening the ‘single’ board exam opportunity for students. Students can also opt for appearing in both the board exams, and will also be able to retain and carry forward the higher score earned among both the exams for pursuing further academics.
“Appearing for class 10, 12 board exams twice a year will not be mandatory for students. It will be completely optional and the main objective is to reduce their stress caused by the fear of single opportunity,” Dharmendra Pradhan said.
