Kia India is all set to increase its presence in the Indian electric vehicle market. To achieve this goal, the Korean automaker plans to showcase its Kia EV7 electric concept SUV at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, with plans to launch the car possibly next year. The EV9 was first brought out from the covers at the 2021 Los Angeles Motor Show and now it is coming to India. The new electric vehicle comes after the recent launch of the Kia EV6 in India. It is to be noted that the concept EV is one of the flagship models from the Korean automaker and will be launched in India as a premium EV.
Kia EV9 Concept: Dimensions
The concept EV is a massive size with a length of 4,929mm, width of 2,055mm and height of 1,790mm. The SUV will be based on the company’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) platform, which limits the Kia EV9’s wheelbase to 3,100 mm. The other Kia EV6 and sister company Ioniq 5 EV are also built on the same platform.

Kia EV9 Concept: Design
Talking about the design, the Kia EV9 sports an aggressive face with a futuristic design. In addition, it gets a unique blanked-out panel and Z-shaped headlamp cluster with LED lights. However, the body design follows the traditional boxy design usually seen in SUVs. A similar design carries over to the rear end with sharper edges and merges with the vertical LED tail lamps at the rear and a visibly bulky bumper.
Kia EV9 Concept: Interiors
Coming to the features of the Kia EV9, as you can expect from such a vehicle, it gets a futuristic layout with durable materials. The interiors of the EV concept will feature materials such as natural wool threads, fishnet debris, recycled plastics and plant-based extracts. To make it more attractive, the car will get ambient LED lighting with a three-row layout.
Kia EV9 Concept: Expected range, battery pack
The Kia EV9 concept will likely feature a 77.4kWh battery pack. The battery pack is comparatively bigger than that of the EV6. The battery pack is expected to give the SUV a range of around 540 kms. Considering the platform, it will get an 800V electrical architecture capable of handling 350 kW of charge.
