Karnataka will soon get its second Vande Bharat Express as Union Minister for Mines, Coal and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi confirmed the launch of the Bengaluru-Hubli-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express. The minister announced in Hubballi on Thursday that the state will get its second Vande Bharat Express train in July, which will run between Bengaluru and Dharwad. Karnataka got its first Vande Bharat Express on the Mysore-Chennai route, which was South India’s first semi-high speed train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Vande Bharat Express train between Mysore and Chennai.
PM Modi is expected to flag off the Bengaluru-Hubli-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express in July. Union Minister Joshi said that he has spoken to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in this regard. He said, “All preparations have been completed to run the super fast train. The Union Railway Minister has assured to inaugurate the new train by July.”
People have expressed happiness over the new train between Bengaluru and Dharwad as it will connect north Karnataka with state capital Bengaluru. Prahlad Joshi said, “People of the twin cities – Hubli and Dharwad – can experience the best of rail service after the introduction of the Vande Bharat train.”
Bangalore, India’s IT hub, is an important hub for thousands of people who travel by Indian Railways trains to other cities in South India, including Chennai and Hubli.
Most recently, the world’s longest railway platform at Sri Siddharudha Swamiji Hubli station in Karnataka was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the state in March, when he flagged off the Mysore-Chennai Vande Bharat Express.
