Itanagar: The CBI has filed a charge sheet against 10 accused in a local court here in connection with the question paper leak of Assistant Engineer (Civil) exam conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission.
Sources in the State Police Department said that the lead probe agency filed the charge sheet in the District and Sessions Court of Yupia on Thursday.
The matter pertains to question paper leak of Assistant Engineer (Civil) exam 2021 conducted by APSSC.
The CBI took over the probe on October 27 this year after the state government recommended a probe by the agency.
The case was initially investigated by the capital police and later transferred to the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of the state police.
The paper leak incident came to light when Gymar Padung, a candidate for the exam, lodged a police complaint at Itanagar police station on August 29, claiming that he suspected that the AE (Civil) exam paper had been leaked.
This year more than 400 candidates appeared in the examination held on 26 and 27 August.
The SIC had arrested 10 people including APPSC Deputy Secretary cum Controller of Examinations Taket Jerang.
APPSC chairman Nipo Nabam had resigned on October 14 on moral grounds.
The state government had also ordered an inquiry by the SIC (Vigilance) into all the examinations conducted by the APPSC since 2014.
SIC has so far arrested 32 people in various cases.
