New Delhi: Officials said on Saturday that the fourth phase of CUET-UG, the entrance exam of central universities, has been postponed till August 30 for 11,000 candidates to adjust the city of their choice for the examination center, officials said on Saturday. has given.
“Exam for over 11,000 out of 3.72 lakh candidates has been postponed till August 30 to accommodate the city of their choice for the examination centre. NTA has increased the capacity at the centers and also added more examination centres. So that efforts are being made to ensure that the quality centers have been increased,” PTI quoted UGC chairman Jagdish Kumar as saying.
“It has also been decided to deploy additional technical manpower by deploying an associate professor level facility as technical supervisor at each center to ensure smooth conduct of the examination,” Kumar said.
The fourth phase of the Central Universities Entrance Examination-Graduation was scheduled from August 17-20 and a total of 3.72 lakh candidates were scheduled to appear in the examination.
The National Testing Agency, NTA, which conducts CUET-UG, had earlier said that all the phases of the exam will end on August 28.
There were technical glitches in the second phase of CUET due to which NTA decided to cancel the exam at various centres.
Kumar had said last week that the exams at various centers were canceled following reports and indications of ‘sabotage’.

Earlier, last week, it was announced that the CUET for the candidates affected by the cancellation due to technical issues will now be conducted from August 24 to 28, 2022.
“In the second phase, the examinations scheduled to be held between August 4 and 6 were postponed at some centers due to administrative and technical reasons. Earlier, we had announced that the exam will be conducted from August 12-14. However, many candidates had approached us requesting not to conduct the exams on the said dates as a series of festivals were falling during this period,” an NTA official was quoted as saying by PTI.
