Delhi Government Launches Mathematics Winter Camp For Class 9 Students

New Delhi: The Delhi government on Monday launched “Mathematics Winter Camps” for city schools to bridge the learning gap. COVID-19 epidemic among students The camp will run till January 14. The initiative is expected to supplement classroom content, improve the learning levels of Class-9 students, act as a brief exam-focused revision and enable students to address foundational concepts.

The camp will be an opportunity to work on the challenges faced throughout the academic year and additional learning support will be provided to Class-9 students of city government-run schools to strengthen fundamental concepts, said Reena Gupta, advisor, Delhi government. He said that the camp was launched as a small scale pilot project.

Keeping in view the relevant needs of the students, the camp will revise topics like Number System, Quadrilaterals, Menstruation and chapters from the syllabus which remain a weak link. Teachers will also provide subject wise exercises and math puzzles to consolidate counting, integers, unit conversion, divisibility, simplification and revise important formulas.
