New Delhi: The Delhi University on Friday announced that the admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic session 2022-23 will end on December 31. It also announced that admission to its undergraduate programs will take place under a special spot round for some shortlisted colleges. Starting 18th December.

Empty seats will be displayed in this program on Sunday. “It is notified that the closing date for admission to all undergraduate and postgraduate programs of Delhi University for the academic session 2022-23 will be Saturday, December 31, 2022,” registrar Vikas Gupta said in a notice. Delhi University (DU) has so far managed to fill around 63,900 of the proposed 70,000 undergraduate seats after several rounds of allotment.

The university said that candidates who had applied in CSAS-2022-UG and have not taken admission in any college on the date of declaration of Special Spot Admission Round can participate. In another statement, the university said that the candidate has to opt for ‘Special Spot Admission’ through its dashboard to be considered for the round. The university said, “Upon the announcement of the Special Spot Admission Round, the admitted candidates will not be allowed to withdraw their admission. Interested candidates will be able to choose all the programs in the shortlisted colleges subject to the availability of seats.”

Candidates can apply for Special Spot Admission Round on Monday and Tuesday. The allotted list will be declared on December 22. Candidates can accept the allotted seat till 23rd December. It will be mandatory for the candidate to take admission only on the allotted seat in the particular seat admission cycle. “Failure to accept the allotted seat in the Special Spot Admission Round will result in termination of the eligibility of the candidate for admission to UOD,” the university said. It states that there will be no option to ‘Upgrade’ and ‘Wadraw’ during the Special Round.
