My dear Arati,

Very glad to hear from you after a long time. You asked me about my new school. Well, here it is. Nistarini Girls’ School (for that is the name of my new school) is only ten years old and is housed in a one-storeyed pucca building with spacious lawns on all sides. It is the gift of a local businessman and the school has been named after his mother. I have been here for only a month, yet this short experience is satisfactory in every way. It is a multipurpose school with two streams. The science laboratory is well equipped and the library too has a good stock of reference books and juvenile literature. There is provision also for physical training under two trained teachers.

The roll-strength of the school is only a little above 500 with thirty eight teachers in all. This teacher student ratio is in itself a sufficient proof of the soundness of its basis.

The Headmistress is an M.A., B.T. with a good academic career. She is comparatively young, full of idealism and real love for the profession. She is a strict disciplinarian, but sweet tempered and kind hearted. Most of the Asst. Teachers are trained hands. They also are all that may be desired,-sympathetic and efficient.

As-to my classmates, they are a decent lot with a few exceptions. They have received me warmly among them in spite of my natural shyness. Perhaps this is enough for the present. I shall give you more details in a future letter. Please accept my best wishes and convey regards to your parents.

Ever yours,

Sabita
