The Gujarat ATS has arrested another person Sarojkumar Seemanchal Maloo from Odisha in connection with the Gujarat Panchayat Junior Clerk exam paper leak case. Earlier this week, the Gujarat ATS had arrested 16 accused in the case after the paper leak incident came to light.
On Sunday, January 29, the Gujarat Panchayat Services Selection Board (GPSSB) canceled the Panchayat Junior Clerk Exam 2023 hours before it was to be conducted following the news of the exam paper being leaked.
The Gujarat Panchayat Junior Clerk Exam 2023 was scheduled to be held on January 31, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Around 9.5 lakh registered candidates were set to appear for the exam, which aimed to fill a total of 1,181 Junior Clerk vacancies.
Announcing the cancellation of the Gujarat Panchayat Junior Clerk exam, the board expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the candidates and asked them not to visit the examination centres.

After the cancellation of the exam, GPSSB later announced that it will re-conduct the exam soon and candidates will be informed about the same as soon as possible. “The examination will be conducted afresh at the earliest, for which the board will issue fresh advertisement,” the board said in an official statement.
Following the previous arrests, the Gujarat ATS said it has arrested 16 people in connection with the case and also recovered question paper copies from their possession.
“The State ATS nabbed the 15 accused from a computer examination center named StackWise Technology in Vadodara at around 1.30 a.m. on Sunday when they had gathered there with the copy of the question paper. The question paper recovered from them matched the original paper , to which it was learned that the government should immediately take a decision to postpone the exam, Gujarat ATS SP Sunil Joshi told PTI.
Based on a tip-off that a person from Odisha identified as Pradeep Nayak was going to give question paper to Ketan Barot and Bhaskar Chowdhary in Vadodara city, the ATS launched a raid involving personnel of Surat Crime Branch and Vadodara Special. Special team formed. Operations Group (SOG) and 15 people from the examination center were arrested along with the photocopy and question paper copy, Joshi further added.
