Indian Railways is working on the development of railway network across the country. As a part of this development, Thrissur Railway Station will be modernized with a new design. Railway Ministry’s Passenger Amenities Committee (PAC) chairman PK Krishnadas on Wednesday visited Thrissur railway station’s development and revealed that Rs 300 crore has been sanctioned to make it at par with an airport. PK Krishnadas went to the railway station to see the convenience of passengers and other facilities available there.
PK Krishnadas said, “Rs 300 crore has been sanctioned for the development of Thrissur railway station. The amount was allocated to develop the railway station at par with the airport. Guruvayur railway station has also been given Rs 10 crore under the Amrit Nagaram station project.” Allocated Rs.

“The modernization of Thrissur railway station will be completed by 2025. Rs 300 crore has been allocated for the project. The action has been taken considering the cultural heritage of Thrissur and the importance of Thrissur Pooram. The railway station will have a wide range of facilities, Including a supermarket and a rest centre,” he said.
Informing that a 12-member Passenger Amenities Committee visited Thrissur Railway Station to review the project, PK Krishnadas said, “The tendering process for modernization of Ernakulam Kollam railway stations has been completed. There are 52 railway stations in India. will be given airport status.” ,
He said, “Rs 12 crore has been sanctioned for the modernization of Guruvayur railway station. This amount is included in the Amrutabhara station project and has been allocated for construction, construction of platform roof and other development activities.”
