Police have booked a coaching institute in Kota for abetting the suicide of an IIT-JEE aspirant, who was studying at the institute and allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room, news agency PTI quoted some officials as saying. According to the police, 17-year-old Bahadur Singh from Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur allegedly died in his hostel room in Mahavir Nagar-II on Friday, July 7, and his body was recovered with a suicide note on Sunday morning. , He was preparing for IIT-JEE for the last two months at a coaching institute in Kota. Bahadur’s brother Jai Bhim Singh has accused the coaching institute of harassing and suspending the 17-year-old deceased, which eventually forced him to end his life.
In his complaint, Jai Bheem has said that the coaching institute suspended Bahadur, which caused him to fall into depression and distress and eventually lost his life. Circle Officer DSP Harshraj Singh said this. Jai Bheem further alleged that despite Bahadur’s repeated apologies, the coaching institute did not revoke his brother’s suspension.
The police on Sunday, July 9, registered a complaint against the officials of the coaching institute under IPC section 306 for abetment to suicide and started further investigation. Paramjeet Singh, circle inspector of Mahavir Nagar police station, was quoted as saying by PTI. However, before this, the police had registered a complaint under section 174 of CrPC to know the cause of death. The DSP said, though the name of the institute is not mentioned in the complaint, its location near City Mall in Vigyan Nagar is mentioned.
