Suryakumar Yadav was a happy man on Wednesday (January 25) when he was named as the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022. Surya scored 1164 runs in 2022 thanks to a brilliant batting performance in the shortest format of the game. With a healthy average of over 46 and a strike rate in the 180s, he was the obvious choice for the award. After receiving the award, SKY posted a message for his fans and loved ones, thanking them for their continued support and also what he has learned in what has been a wonderful year for him.
“Just wanted to come here and say a massive thank you to all of you. It’s an incredible feeling. This award is for everyone who has been a part of my journey. My coaches, my family, my friends, my teammates K mates and you all are my driving force. The past year was full of blessings. And some unforgettable memories. My favorite is the first century I got for my country. While the year ended on a personal high note, definitely And I want to share with you guys the biggest lesson I learned from last year. Suryakumar is currently the World No. 1 batsman in T20Is. He sits there comfortably. In 2022, he broke 2 tons. Obviously his favorite was Nottingham where he scored 117 off just 55 balls to single-handedly win India from a precarious position in a difficult chase.
