Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announces extra berths for Chhath Puja – Details here

New Delhi: Since Chhath Puja is starting in few days. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Railways has started more than 250 trains. We have provided around 1.4 lakh berths and will do whatever is necessary to help the people. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav says, “I wish everyone a very happy and prosperous Chhath Puja.” Since satellite communication is different from terrestrial communication, we have included a reference to TRAI. Ashwini Vaishnav says, “Trai is studying global best practices, once they come out with recommendations in about 3-4 months, we will take a final decision.” The Prime Minister has given us a clear mandate that India must become a leader in telecom technology, which means that every aspect of telecom technology has to be worked upon in creating new solutions, ensuring that India’s inputs are taken globally at every platform. According to an official, the Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run two pairs of special trains on Dibrugarh-Gorakhpur and New Jalpaiguri-Gorakhpur routes to clear the extra rush of passengers for ‘Chhath’ puja. According to an NFR spokesperson, both the trains will have 20 coaches. One of the special trains will leave Dibrugarh on 27 October at 7.25 pm and will reach Gorakhpur on 29 October. In turn, the train will depart Gorakhpur at 7:50 am on November 1 and reach Dibrugarh in Assam at 20:50 am. next day. The second special train will leave Gorakhpur on 29 October at 5 PM and will reach New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal the next morning.
