The result of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Group D Recruitment 2019 has been declared on December 23, 2022. Railway’s biggest recruitment drive has finally completed its first phase and now candidates are waiting for the dates of Physical Efficiency Test or PET. This was one of the biggest job announcements made just before the Lok Sabha elections in RRB Group D 2019. RRB Group D 2019 notification was released on February 23, 2019.
After more than 3 years, Railway Recruitment Board has been able to conduct the first phase of computer based tests in multiple stages from 17th August to 10th October, 2022. As RRB has recently declared the first stage result, it will probably take more time to complete the recruitment process.
Why is Railways taking so long to complete a recruitment?
In a press conference in January this year, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “We have received 1.25 crore applications for Group D and this is the biggest recruitment ever.” So it takes time and it is a huge task. First, we had trouble finding an agency to conduct the exam on such a scale, then we were hit by the unprecedented pandemic. No wonder these factors influenced the recruitment process.”

The number of RRB Group D vacancies was 1,03,769 as mentioned in the notification released in 2019. Reportedly, more than 1.25 crore candidates applied for this massive recruitment drive. However, the slow process has created many problems for those candidates.

The paper was fine, and I got through the CBT, but it has been a long journey and I request the government to complete the upcoming recruitment within 1 year so that the candidates don’t face any further problems. she added.

CBT Result Declared, What Next?
Candidates who have cleared the Computer Based Test will now have to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The conduct of PET, document verification, medical examination and publication of panel for Level-1 posts will be done by the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) of the concerned Zonal Railway.
