Amaravati: Government and private schools in Andhra Pradesh will reopen on June 12 for the current academic year. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that schools including both government and private schools in the state will reopen for the current academic year on June 12. This decision was made after the release of the annual academic calendar. 2023-24 as per the report of news agency PTI. The calendar includes various details like academic schedule, information about duties of principals and teachers, guidelines for language clubs, laboratories, lesson plans, cultural activities and much more.
In a review meeting with officials of the education department, the chief minister stressed the importance of having two junior colleges in each circle, one for girls and the other in co-educational format. He also directed the officers to upgrade the high schools to junior colleges on the basis of population. Additionally, the Chief Minister directed officials to provide training to teachers on the use of Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) panels and video content delivery.
During the meeting, the officials informed the Chief Minister that the representatives of the companies would provide exposure to the faculty members of the engineering college, who would then train the teachers. He also mentioned that around 20,000 engineering students will undergo internship and then train teachers on the use of panels, tablets, Byju’s content and smart televisions on a monthly basis.
Further, the Chief Minister stressed on the importance of achieving 100 per cent Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in schools and directed the officials to take necessary steps to ensure that internet facility is available in all the 45,000 schools in the state.

TS schools will reopen on June 12
Schools in Telangana are scheduled to reopen on June 12 for the new academic year 2023-24. After the summer break starting from April 25, the students will start the academic year which is expected to have 229 working days. The academic calendar provided by the Department of School Education includes three sets of term holidays, which are Dussehra, Christmas (for missionary schools) and Sankranti (for other schools).
