Schools remained closed due to cold wave: Cold wave has knocked in many states of North India. Due to the extreme cold weather, many states have declared or extended winter vacations in schools. Here is a list of states where schools are closed to ensure the safety of students from the cold wave:
Delhi:
Delhiites are facing shivering cold. The Directorate of Education in Delhi announced that all schools would remain closed for winter vacations from January 1 to January 15.
Madhya Pradesh:
In view of the cold wave in Madhya Pradesh, schools remained closed in some districts on Friday. Schools have been closed till January 10, 2023 for classes up to class 8 in some districts including Bhopal, Indore, Vidisha and Ujjain.
Jaipur, Rajasthan)
The District Magistrate of Jaipur has issued an order to extend the winter vacation in the government schools of the city. Schools from classes 1 to 8 will remain closed till January 14.
A state in Eastern India:
Schools will remain closed for students of classes 1 to 8 in Patna and Muzaffarpur from January 2 to January 7.
Jharkhand:
Jharkhand’s schools will remain closed for students of classes 1 to 5 till 8 January 2023 due to severe cold wave.
Uttar Pradesh:
Schools from classes 1 to 8 in Noida will remain closed till January 14. In state capital Lucknow, schools are closed for all classes till January 7. Authorities in Agra have ordered the closure of all schools up to class 12 till January 7. Apart from this, schools in Mainpuri district have been ordered to be closed till January 14.
Haryana:
All government and private schools will remain closed in Haryana till January 15, 2023. However, schools for classes 10 and 12 will remain open from 10 am to 2 pm in view of the board exams.
