Twitter Down: Users claim Twitter not loading; Memes flood micro-blogging site

Many social media users today are complaining that Twitter is no longer working – either their home page is not loading or the app is not refreshing. The issue was also noted by Downdetector, a website that flags popular sites when there is a glitch with their services. Several users claimed that their profile showed text that suggested their account did not exist. People reached out to alternative platforms like Facebook and Instagram to see if Twitter was facing any issues or had been de-platformed. According to DownDetector, 65% people faced issues with the desktop version while 33% faced issues with the Twitter app. According to the downdetector map, users in Indian cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Bengaluru faced issues.

No official statement has come from Twitter yet. This is the second time Twitter is down since its acquisition by Elon Musk in October this year. Elon Musk acquired Twitter in October this year in a $44 billion deal. Since then he has been working to make several changes to the microblogging platform. These changes include paid Blue subscriptions and separate badges for verified profiles.
