The Ministry of Cooperation has approved a grant of Rs 30 crore to develop Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) as a center of excellence for cooperative education and training.
Funds will be utilized to enhance the infrastructure of the institute by constructing a new hostel and cafeteria for students and trainees, providing cooperative training to international trainees as per the MoU, construction of world class hostel, training room, and installation of lift in management will be done for Shiksha Bhavan to create necessary infrastructure.
Established in the year 1962, VAMNICOM is a premier center for cooperative management training, research and consultancy, functioning under the National Council for Cooperative Training. Vanicom is also promoted by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.
In its functioning, the Institute facilitates a number of cooperative training programs for high-level officials of State and Central Government such as Chairmen/Managing Directors/Chief Executive Officers/Members of the Board of Directors of State and National Cooperative Federations.
