Vande Bharat Express is a semi-high-speed train which is also the fastest train in the country. Soon, Indian Railways will introduce Vande Metro, which is a smaller version of the fastest train in India, and it will be launched in the country soon. As revealed by Indian Railways, the design and production of Vande Metro will be completed soon; Most likely by the end of this year. The new Vande Metro will connect smaller routes in big cities to help people travel to work and hometowns. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “Completely made in India Vande Metro trains will soon be introduced in the country in line with PM Modi’s vision to make travel easier for commuters from neighboring areas of a state. “

“We are developing Vande Metro. There are large settlements around big cities from where people prefer to come to the big city for work or leisure and go back to their homes. For that, we are coming up with Vande Bharat equivalent of Vande Metro. Design and production will be completed this year, and a ramp-up of train production will be done in the next financial year,” said Ashwini Vaishnav. “It will be a rapid shuttle-like experience for passengers,” he said.

Salient Features of Vande Metro
Like the regular Metro, the Vande Metro will have a rake of eight coaches, unlike the 16 coaches of the Vande Bharat Express train. In addition, Vande Metro will provide a shuttle-like experience to connect various smaller stations together. It will help students, businessmen and service-industry people to travel from their hometown to the city of work. Instructions have been issued to the General Managers of Integral Coach Factory in Chennai and Research Design and Standards Organization in Lucknow to roll out these 8-coach Vande Metro rakes at the earliest.
