WATCH: Sri Lanka women celebrate their win over Pakistan women dancing post-game

Sri Lanka women beat Pakistani women by 1 run in semi-final Women’s Asia Cup 2022 Thursday (October 13). Choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka scored only 122 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan made a good start chasing the target of 123 runs but failed to chase down the easy target. Nashra Sandhu of Pakistan grabbed 3 wickets to help restrict Sri Lanka to a low of 122 runs.

Following their impressive victory, the Sri Lankan women celebrated the victory over Pakistan by dancing after the game. Pakistan, on the other hand, will be very disappointed with their campaign ending with a narrow margin of just one run. Skipper Bismah Maroof was the lone wolf for the women in the green, scoring 42 while chasing Pakistan’s target of 123.

Sri Lanka will now take on India in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 on Saturday (October 15). Team India defeated Thailand Women by 74 runs to enter the final of Women’s Asia Cup 2022.

“We batted really well, Thailand bowled well too, and didn’t deliver loose deliveries. We were able to get good partnerships for a good total. Coming back into the team (after missing a few matches), you’ll find those Need runs, Shafali (Verma) and Jemima (Rodrigues) were looking good. We just need to keep going. Deepti (Sharma) is someone who is ready to bowl in any conditions, and that kind of thing. Being a bowler helps the captain too, the way he is bowling, it’s good to see.” Harmanpreet Kaur said after the victory over Thailand.

Brief Scores: Sri Lanka 122/6 (Harshita Madvi 35, Anoushka Sanjeevani 26; Nashra Sandhu 3/17) vs Pakistan 121/6 (Bismah Maroof 42, Nida Dar 26; Inoka Ranvira 2/17)
