Winter Vacation Extended In Haryana And Chandigarh, Schools To Remain Closed Till This Date

Schools closed in Haryana and Chandigarh: In view of the prevailing cold weather conditions, winter vacation has been extended in Haryana and Chandigarh. The Haryana government on Friday extended the winter vacation in all schools in the state till January 21. As per the notice issued by the Directorate of School Education, Haryana, all government and private schools will remain closed till January 21 since the winter vacation has been extended.

Schools, which were earlier scheduled to reopen on January 16, will now reopen on January 23.

However, the notice states that classes will continue for class 10th and class 12th students, who have to appear for their board exams.

“The Government of Haryana has extended the winter vacation in all schools (government and private) in the state till January 21, 2023, due to severe winter. All schools will remain closed during the said time period. From January 23, 2023, the schools will be reopened, reads the official statement.

In view of the severe cold in North India, the Union Territory of Chandigarh has extended the winter vacation for students up to class VIII. According to an official notification, the winter vacation for students up to class 8 in government, government-aided and recognized private schools in the Union Territory has been extended till January 21, 2023. However, classes from class 9 to 12 will continue as before. Instruction.

Schools in Delhi will remain closed till January 15. The Delhi government has advised all private schools to remain closed till January 15 due to the cold wave.

“Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions very likely over parts of North Rajasthan and cold wave conditions at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh,” the India Meteorological Department said.
