Xiaomi Redmi 6A smartphone explosion near a women’s face kills her, claims YouTuber

New Delhi: According to a YouTuber, a Redmi 6A smartphone reportedly exploded in the Delhi-NCR region and a woman was killed. According to a tweet by a tech YouTuber, a man’s aunt was using a smartphone and placed it on a pillow near his face while sleeping, and the smartphone exploded, killing his life. Responding to the tweet, Xiaomi said that it is looking into the matter.

A YouTuber, MD Talk YT, claimed that the battery explosion took the life of the user and shared pictures of the condition of the smartphone. While the front panel appears to be completely folded up and shattered, the back panel reveals that the smartphone’s battery has exploded. The tweet also included a graphic image of a woman lying in bed in a pool of blood. “Hello @RedmiIndia, @manukumarjain, @s Anuj, last night, my aunty was found dead, she was using Redmi 6A, she was sleeping and she put the phone on the pillow near her face and after sometime His phone exploded.” This is a difficult time for us. It is a brand’s responsibility to support this,” a YouTuber named Manjeet said in a tweet.

In response to the tweet, Xiaomi said that its team is trying to contact the affected family and find out the cause of the incident. In a subsequent tweet, the YouTuber claims that the affected family is poor and the victim’s son is in the army. “His family is so simple that his son serves in the Indian Army.” They don’t know much. She only uses her phone to make calls and watch YouTube.

Now, if a brand doesn’t take responsibility for its mistakes, if a family has to fight for justice, then what is the point?”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of an explosion in a smartphone. Earlier this year, a OnePlus Nord 2 exploded while a user was on a call, injuring him in the face and hands. Earlier, another OnePlus Nord 2 explosion prompted a legal battle between OnePlus and the user, who used to be a lawyer, who was reportedly injured after the smartphone exploded in his jacket pocket.

While there have been reports of users getting injured as a result of a smartphone explosion, this is the first time we have heard of an incident in India where a smartphone explosion has killed a user. In this case, we can’t say what caused the smartphone to explode or if it caused the injuries seen in the YouTuber’s images. However, this is not the first time Redmi smartphones have exploded. In 2019, the Redmi 9A exploded in the pocket of a user in Andhra Pradesh, causing minor injuries.
